What do we do?

Primary Focus:

We raise the money to physically build and staff schools in partnership with communities in Africa. We staff those school with native English speaking volunteer teachers who work side-by-side with African teachers in the classrooms in the African communities we serve. We partner native English speaking classrooms with African classrooms at our schools to provide cross-cultural educational experiences for those participating schools, teachers, and students. As a part of this focus, we provide extensive teacher training, on-site supervision, and peer mentoring.

Secondary Focus in Africa:

We provide community human services, vocational training and English as a second language instruction. As part of this community effort, we offer hands-on training and volunteer support in agriculture, nutrition, health & wellness, HIV/AIDS prevention, solar energy, solar cooking, water purification, arts & crafts, basic medical care, family planning, domestic & sexual violence intervention, infant care, and micro business enterprise.

Secondary Focus in the United States:

We provide educational and informational workshops and seminars about Africa's culture and history. We assist African Immigrants with English as a Second Language classes and with advocacy, support and intervention for those who have been the victims of domestic or sexual violence. We offer information, referral, assistance, and support for African immigrant families in crisis.
